North Carolina High School Basketball - Independence overwhelms East Mecklenburg

The Independence Patriots basketball team scored 70 points and limited the visiting East Mecklenburg Eagles to 44 in the Patriots league triumph on Thursday.

The Patriots now possess a 13-2 record. They play next when they host Rocky River for a 4A Southwestern game on Tuesday, January 14.

With the loss, East Mecklenburg falls to 8-6 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Charlotte Catholic (Charlotte, NC) to play the Cougars in a 4A Southwestern game on Tuesday, January 14. The Cougars go into the game with a record of 13-3. Charlotte Catholic won 75-54 in their recent league game against Butler (Matthews, NC)
