Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Armstrong River Hawks (Kittanning, PA) and the visiting Shaler Area Titans (Pittsburgh, PA), saw Armstrong's basketball squad hold off Shaler Area by a tally of 40-37.

With the victory, Armstrong improves its record to 9-3 on the campaign. The River Hawks host Mars (Mars, PA) to confront the Fightin' Planets in a WPIAL 5A 2 challenge on Monday, January 29. The Fightin' Planets come into the challenge with a record of 8-7.

Next up, the Titans confront the Erie Royals (Erie, PA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 20. Shaler Area will attempt to improve on its 4-11 season record. The Royals come into the challenge with a 10-4 record after their 39-33 league win over General McLane (Edinboro, PA).
