Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Mars knocked off by Armstrong

January 29, 2024: Kittanning, PA 16201

The Armstrong River Hawks basketball team scored 53 points and held the visiting Mars Fightin' Planets to 35 in the River Hawks league triumph on Monday.

The River Hawks now sport a 11-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hampton for a WPIAL 5A 2 contest on Friday, February 2. Armstrong will meet a Talbots team coming off a 49-46 league loss to Fox Chapel (Pittsburgh, PA). The Talbots record now stands at 11-6.

The Fightin' Planets (9-9) will now prepare for their contest against Shaler Area (Pittsburgh, PA). The Titans enter the WPIAL 5A 2 contest with a 5-13 record. In their last contest, Shaler Area ran past New Castle (New Castle, PA), 50-14, in a league contest.
