The A.C. Reynolds Rockets (Asheville, NC) basketball nipped the visiting McDowell Titans (Marion, NC), 80-73 in Tuesday's league test.

The Rockets (9-8) will now prepare for their test against North Buncombe (Weaverville, NC). The Black Hawks go into the 3A/4A Conference 53 test with a 10-7 record. In their last test, North Buncombe got by Erwin (Asheville, NC), 77-74, in a league test.

The Titans now own a 8-9 record. They play next when they travel to T.C. Roberson for a 3A/4A Conference 53 test on Friday, January 20. McDowell will encounter a Rams squad coming off a 62-56 league loss to A.C. Reynolds (Asheville, NC). The Rams record now stands at 5-12.
