The North Gem Cowboys tipped the visiting Mackay Miners basketball team by a final score of 55-50 in Friday's non-league game.

In their next game, the Cowboys face the American Heritage Patriots (Idaho Falls, ID) in a 1A II High Desert game, on Wednesday, December 20. North Gem will attempt to move on its 4-3 season record. The Patriots enter the game with a 0-6 record after their 43-35 non-league loss to Alturas Prep (Idaho Falls, ID).

With the defeat, Mackay moves to 3-3 on the year. The Miners travel to Richfield (Richfield, ID) to face the Tigers in a non-league game on Saturday, December 16.
