Westlake Chaparrals (Austin, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Akins Eagles (Austin, TX), 66-47 in a league bout.

With the victory, Westlake upgrades its record to 30-4 on the campaign.

Next up, the Eagles play the Lake Travis Cavaliers (Austin, TX) in a 6A Region IV District 26 bout, on Tuesday, February 14. Akins will attempt to upgrade on its 13-18 season record. The Cavaliers come into the bout with a 25-7 record after their 64-61 league loss to Johnson (Buda, TX).
