January 10, 2023: Salem, SD 57058 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Hanson Beavers (Alexandria, SD) and the host McCook Central/Montrose Fighting Cougars (Salem, SD), saw Hanson's basketball squad wallop McCook Central/Montrose by a tally of 75-38.
With the victory, Hanson improves its record to 6-3 on the campaign. The Beavers host Parker (Parker, SD) to confront the Pheasants in a non-league challenge on Thursday, January 12. The Pheasants come into the challenge with a record of 0-5. Parker lost 61-34 in their recent non-league challenge against Freeman (Freeman, SD)
Next up, the Fighting Cougars confront the Sioux Valley Cossacks (Volga, SD) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, January 12. McCook Central/Montrose will attempt to improve on its 3-2 season record. The Cossacks come into the challenge with a 5-1 record after their 63-46 league loss to Hamlin (Hayti, SD).
