The Lexington Minutemen basketball team scored 49 points and held the host Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Falcons to 39 in the Minutemen non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Minutemen now sport a 19-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Ridgeview for a Heart of Illinois contest on Tuesday, January 24. Lexington will battle a Mustangs team coming off a 54-46 non-league win over Tri-Valley (Downs, IL). The Mustangs record now stands at 7-16.

The Falcons (13-8) will now prepare for their contest against Deer Creek-Mackinaw (Mackinaw, IL). The Chiefs enter the Heart of Illinois contest with a 3-18 record.
