Negaunee Miners (Negaunee, MI) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Iron Mountain Mountaineers (Iron Mountain, MI), 54-38 in a league bout.

With the win, Negaunee upgrades its record to 13-4 on the season. The Miners travel to Gladstone (Gladstone, MI) to play the Braves in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Braves go into the bout with a record of 5-10. Gladstone won 49-38 in their recent non-league bout against Manistique (Manistique, MI)

Next up, the Mountaineers play the Ishpeming Hematites (Ishpeming, MI) in a Mid-Peninsula bout, on Monday, January 30. Iron Mountain will attempt to upgrade on its 0-11 season record. The Hematites go into the bout with a 8-4 record after their 49-27 league win over Westwood (Ishpeming, MI).
