The Portola Tigers (Portola, CA) basketball nipped the host Loyalton Grizzlies (Loyalton, CA), 73-69 in Wednesday's non-league test.

The Tigers (20-4) will now prepare for their test against Quincy (Quincy, CA). The Trojans go into the Five Star test with a 20-4 record. In their last test, Quincy got by Chester (Chester, CA), 56-41, in a league test.
