The East Wilkes Cardinals basketball team (Ronda, NC), dropped 51-38 in Friday's non-league battle with the host Wilkes Central Eagles (Wilkesboro, NC)

The Eagles now sport a 4-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Forbush for a 2A Conference 37 battle on Tuesday, January 18. Wilkes Central will battle a Falcons team coming off a 68-56 league win over North Wilkes (Hays, NC). The Falcons record now stands at 11-4.

The Cardinals (4-8) will now prepare for their battle against Starmount (Boonville, NC). The Rams come into the 1A Conference 36 battle with a 1-9 record. In their last battle, Starmount dropped by Alleghany (Sparta, NC), 55-50, in a league battle.
