The Mapletown Maples basketball team (Greensboro, PA), was overwhelmed 93-66 in Tuesday's league battle with the host Geibel Catholic Gators (Connellsville, PA)

The Gators now possess a 4-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host California for a WPIAL 1A 2 battle on Friday, January 13. Geibel Catholic will confront a Trojans team coming off a 60-52 league loss to Jefferson-Morgan (Jefferson, PA). The Trojans record now stands at 4-8.

The Maples (4-7) will now prepare for their battle against Monessen (Monessen, PA). The Greyhounds come into the WPIAL 1A 2 battle with a 10-1 record. In their last battle, Monessen trounced West Greene (Waynesburg, PA), 74-47, in a league battle.
