Geibel Catholic Gators (Connellsville, PA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Mapletown Maples (Greensboro, PA), 76-38 in a league bout.

With the win, Geibel Catholic upgrades its record to 12-6 on the season. The Gators travel to California (Coal Center, PA) to clash with the Trojans in a WPIAL 1A 2 bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 6-13. California lost 64-51 in their recent league bout against Jefferson-Morgan (Jefferson, PA)

Next up, the Maples clash with the Bethlehem Center Bulldogs (Fredericktown, PA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, February 4. Mapletown will attempt to upgrade on its 7-10 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 1-18 record after their 69-56 league loss to Burgettstown (Burgettstown, PA).
