The Granbury Pirates basketball team scored 70 points and held the visiting Aledo Bearcats to 63 in the Pirates league triumph on Friday.

The Pirates now sport a 12-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Brewer for a 5A Region I District 5 contest on Tuesday, January 16. Granbury will meet a Bears team coming off a 56-39 league win over Azle (Azle, TX). The Bears record now stands at 20-5.

The Bearcats (12-10) will now prepare for their contest against Rider (Wichita Falls, TX). The Raiders enter the 5A Region I District 5 contest with a 7-15 record. In their last contest, Rider was nudged by Saginaw (Saginaw, TX), 58-49, in a league contest.
