Holliday Eagles (Holliday, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting City View Mustangs (Wichita Falls, TX), 55-36 in a league bout.

With the win, Holliday upgrades its record to 21-2 on the season. The Eagles host Vernon (Vernon, TX) to play the Lions in a 3A Region I District 7 bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 15-6. Vernon lost 49-47 in their recent league bout against Bowie (Bowie, TX)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Iowa Park Hawks (Iowa Park, TX) in a 3A Region I District 7 bout, on Tuesday, January 16. City View will attempt to upgrade on its 11-9 season record. The Hawks go into the bout with a 12-9 record after their 62-54 league win over Henrietta (Henrietta, TX).
