Holliday Eagles (Holliday, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host City View Mustangs (Wichita Falls, TX), 47-46 in a league bout.

With the victory, Holliday upgrades its record to 27-2 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Vernon (Vernon, TX) to play the Lions in a 3A Region I District 7 bout on Friday, February 9. The Lions come into the bout with a record of 19-8. Vernon won 59-44 in their recent league bout against Bowie (Bowie, TX)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Iowa Park Hawks (Iowa Park, TX) in a 3A Region I District 7 bout, on Friday, February 9. City View will attempt to upgrade on its 16-10 season record. The Hawks come into the bout with a 15-12 record after their 66-33 league win over Henrietta (Henrietta, TX).
