Georgia High School Basketball - Gainesville can't hold off Lanier

The Lanier Longhorns basketball team scored 39 points and held the host Gainesville Red Elephants to 37 in the Longhorns league triumph on Saturday.
The Longhorns now sport a 7-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Habersham Central for a AAAAAA Region 8 contest on Tuesday, January 16. Lanier will battle a Raiders team coming off a 53-20 league loss to North Forsyth (Cumming, GA). The Raiders record now stands at 5-10.
The Red Elephants (3-10) will now prepare for their contest against Marietta (Marietta, GA). The Blue Devils enter the non-league contest with a 13-4 record. In their last contest, Marietta nudged Mount Pisgah Christian (Johns Creek, GA), 70-37, in a non-league contest.
