Winfield Generals (Winfield, WV) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Poca The Dots (Poca, WV), 40-33 in a league bout.

With the win, Winfield upgrades its record to 3-7 on the season. The Generals host Hoover (Clendenin, WV) to play the Huskies in a Cardinal bout on Friday, January 19. The Huskies go into the bout with a record of 5-4. Hoover lost 61-55 in their recent league bout against Nitro (Nitro, WV)

Next up, the The Dots play the Sissonville Indians (Charleston, WV) in a Cardinal challenge, on Tuesday, January 23. Poca will attempt to improve on its 7-4 season record. The Indians come into the challenge with a 6-4 record after their 77-49 league loss to Nitro (Nitro, WV).
