Gautier Gators (Gautier, MS) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Stone Tomcats (Wiggins, MS), 27-14 in a league bout.

With the victory, Gautier upgrades its record to 5-15 on the campaign. The Gators host Laurel (Laurel, MS) to play the Golden Tornadoes in a 5A Region 4 bout on Friday, January 19. The Golden Tornadoes come into the bout with a record of 16-3. Laurel won 61-21 in their recent league bout against Stone (Wiggins, MS)

Next up, the Tomcats play the Poplarville Hornets (Poplarville, MS) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 19. Stone will attempt to upgrade on its 11-10 season record.
