Nevada High School Basketball - Battle Mountain can't hold off Pershing County

January 17, 2025: Battle Mountain, NV 89820

Pershing County Mustangs (Lovelock, NV) supporters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host Battle Mountain Longhorns (Battle Mountain, NV), 40-39 in a league match.

With the victory, Pershing County advances its record to 12-4 on the year. The Mustangs travel to West Wendover (West Wendover, NV) to face the Wolverines in a 2A Northern match on Saturday, January 18. The Wolverines enter the match with a record of 7-7. West Wendover won 49-28 in their recent league match against Oasis Academy (Fallon, NV)

The Longhorns now own a 12-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Coral Academy of Science - Reno for a 2A Northern match on Saturday, January 18. Battle Mountain will face a Falcons squad coming off a 45-19 league win over Incline (Incline Village, NV). The Falcons record now stands at 3-7.
