In Thursday's non-league match, the host Cleveland Storm basketball team scored a good 82-64 triumph over the Sandia Matadors.

In their next game, the Storm meet the Hobbs Eagles (Hobbs, NM) in a non-league match, on Saturday, January 20. Cleveland will attempt to move on its 14-3 season record. The Eagles enter the match with a 7-11 record after their 43-35 non-league win over Los Lunas (Los Lunas, NM).

With the defeat, Sandia moves to 9-6 on the year. The Matadors travel to Rio Grande (Albuquerque, NM) to meet the Ravens in a non-league match on Saturday, January 20. The Ravens enter the match with a record of 5-7. Rio Grande lost 73-58 in their recent non-league match against West Mesa (Albuquerque, NM)
