Texas High School Basketball - Walnut Grove can't hold off Independence

January 19, 2024: Frisco, TX 75035

The Independence Knights basketball team scored 50 points and restricted the visiting Walnut Grove Wildcats to 47 in the Knights league victory on Friday.

The Knights now sport a 9-16 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lebanon Trail for a 5A Region II District 10 contest on Tuesday, January 23. Independence will battle a Trail Blazers team coming off a 60-40 league loss to Emerson (McKinney, TX). The Trail Blazers record now stands at 3-22.

The Wildcats (17-7) will now prepare for their contest against Memorial (Frisco, TX). The Warriors come into the 5A Region II District 10 contest with a 13-12 record. In their last contest, Memorial edged Heritage (Frisco, TX), 78-75, in a league contest.
