Oakwood Comets (Fithian, IL) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Armstrong Trojans (Armstrong, IL), 46-35 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Oakwood upgrades its record to 9-17 on the campaign. The Comets travel to Westville (Westville, IL) to play the Tigers in a Vermilion Valley bout on Thursday, January 25. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 3-19. Westville lost 59-18 in their recent league bout against Watseka (Watseka, IL)

Next up, the Trojans play the Watseka Warriors (Watseka, IL) in a Vermilion Valley bout, on Thursday, January 25. Armstrong will attempt to upgrade on its 4-19 season record. The Warriors come into the bout with a 21-1 record after their 59-18 league win over Westville (Westville, IL).
