San Elizario Eagles (San Elizario, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Fabens Wildcats (Fabens, TX), 48-40 in a league bout.

With the victory, San Elizario upgrades its record to 15-10 on the campaign. The Eagles host Clint (Clint, TX) to play the Lions in a 4A Region I District 2 bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Lions come into the bout with a record of 3-17. Clint lost 59-44 in their recent league bout against Mountain View (El Paso, TX)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Riverside Rangers (El Paso, TX) in a 4A Region I District 2 bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Fabens will attempt to upgrade on its 4-16 season record. The Rangers come into the bout with a 8-12 record after their 60-59 non-league loss to Bowie (El Paso, TX).
