The Weed Cougars basketball team (Weed, CA), was nudged 63-56 in Friday's league battle with the host Mt. Shasta Bears (Mt. Shasta, CA)

The Bears now possess a 9-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Modoc for a Shasta Cascade battle on Tuesday, January 24. Mt. Shasta will confront a Braves team coming off a 54-39 non-league loss to Lassen (Susanville, CA). The Braves record now stands at 4-16.

The Cougars (14-5) will now prepare for their battle against Etna (Etna, CA). The Lions come into the Shasta Cascade battle with a 9-8 record. In their last battle, Etna was nudged by Trinity (Weaverville, CA), 76-47, in a league battle.
