North Carolina High School Basketball - Ashe County thwarted by Watauga

January 20, 2023: West Jefferson, NC 28694

The Ashe County Huskies basketball team (West Jefferson, NC), was toppled 57-45 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC)

The Pioneers now possess a 14-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host South Caldwell for a 3A/4A Conference 52 battle on Friday, January 27. Watauga will confront a Spartans team coming off a 49-28 league loss to Hibriten (Lenoir, NC). The Spartans record now stands at 9-10.

The Huskies (12-5) will now prepare for their battle against Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC). The Cougars come into the 3A/4A Conference 52 battle with a 16-2 record.
