North Carolina High School Basketball - Ashe County topped by Watauga

The Ashe County Huskies basketball team (West Jefferson, NC), dropped 61-50 in Thursday's non-league battle with the host Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC)

The Pioneers now possess a 9-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Central Davidson for a non-league battle on Tuesday, January 3. Watauga will battle a Spartans team coming off a 50-40 non-league win over R.J. Reynolds (Winston-Salem, NC). The Spartans record now stands at 7-5.

The Huskies (8-3) will now prepare for their battle against West Wilkes (Millers Creek, NC). The Blackhawks come into the non-league battle with a 4-8 record. In their last battle, West Wilkes prevailed over Alleghany (Sparta, NC), 40-29, in a non-league battle.
