Eureka Hornets (Eureka, IL) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Deer Creek-Mackinaw Chiefs (Mackinaw, IL), 60-37 in a league bout.

With the win, Eureka upgrades its record to 17-4 on the season. The Hornets travel to Mascoutah (Mascoutah, IL) to play the Indians in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 28. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 16-6.

Next up, the Chiefs play the Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Falcons (Gibson City, IL) in a Heart of Illinois bout, on Friday, January 27. Deer Creek-Mackinaw will attempt to upgrade on its 3-18 season record. The Falcons go into the bout with a 13-8 record after their 49-39 non-league loss to Lexington (Lexington, IL).
