The Eureka Hornets basketball team scored 65 points and held the host Deer Creek-Mackinaw Chiefs to 35 in the Hornets non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Hornets now sport a 3-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Bloomington Central Catholic for a non-league contest on Friday, December 2. Eureka will meet a Saints team coming off a 83-73 non-league loss to Normal West (Normal, IL). The Saints record now stands at 2-2.
The Chiefs (0-3) will now prepare for their contest against Lexington (Lexington, IL). The Minutemen enter the Heart of Illinois contest with a 4-1 record. In their last contest, Lexington triumphed over Fieldcrest (Minonk, IL), 66-57, in a league contest.
