Eastside Spartans (Coeburn, VA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Twin Springs Titans (Nickelsville, VA), 69-61 in a league bout.

With the win, Eastside upgrades its record to 9-7 on the season. The Spartans travel to J.I. Burton (Norton, VA) to clash with the Black Raiders in a Cumberland bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Black Raiders go into the bout with a record of 7-5. J.I. Burton won 69-56 in their recent league bout against Thomas Walker (Ewing, VA)

Next up, the Titans clash with the Thomas Walker Pioneers (Ewing, VA) in a Cumberland bout, on Tuesday, January 31. Twin Springs will attempt to upgrade on its 11-7 season record. The Pioneers go into the bout with a 7-12 record after their 67-46 league win over Castlewood (Castlewood, VA).
