The crowd at Monday's non-league challenge between the Eastside Spartans (Coeburn, VA) and the visiting Lee Generals (Jonesville, VA), observed Eastside's basketball team edge Lee by a score of 57-50.

The Spartans (7-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Thomas Walker (Ewing, VA). The Pioneers come into the Cumberland challenge with a 2-13 record. In their last challenge, Thomas Walker was tipped by Hancock County (Sneedville, TN), 66-25, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Generals battle the Central Wise Warriors (Norton, VA) in a Mountain challenge, on Tuesday, January 28. Lee will attempt to improve on its 7-9 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 7-4 record after their 87-71 league win over Gate City (Gate City, VA).
