Nemaha Central Thunder (Seneca, KS) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Hiawatha Red Hawks (Hiawatha, KS), 53-40 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Nemaha Central upgrades its record to 8-4 on the season. The Thunder host Royal Valley (Hoyt, KS) to play the Panthers in a non-league bout on Thursday, February 1. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 2-9. Royal Valley lost 42-33 in their recent non-league bout against Holton (Holton, KS)

Next up, the Red Hawks play the Perry-Lecompton Kaws (Perry, KS) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 2. Hiawatha will attempt to upgrade on its 4-8 season record. The Kaws go into the bout with a 10-3 record after their 49-39 non-league win over Holton (Holton, KS).
