Saltillo Lions (Saltillo, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Yantis Owls (Yantis, TX), 64-10 in a league bout.

With the win, Saltillo upgrades its record to 24-7 on the season. The Lions travel to Avinger (Avinger, TX) to clash with the Indians in a 1A Region III District 24 bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 14-6.

Next up, the Owls clash with the Bloomburg Wildcats (Bloomburg, TX) in a 1A Region III District 24 bout, on Friday, February 2. Yantis will attempt to upgrade on its 0-19 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 19-8 record after their 69-41 non-league win over Marshall Christian Academy (Marshall, TX).
