Bentworth Bearcats (Bentleyville, PA) supporters left the game happy Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Clairton Bears (Clairton, PA), 54-49 in a league battle.

With the victory, Bentworth advances its record to 8-9 on the year. The Bearcats host Frazier (Perryopolis, PA) to meet the Commodores in a WPIAL 2A 1 battle on Friday, February 7. The Commodores enter the battle with a record of 4-15.

The Bears now own a 5-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Greensburg Central Catholic for a WPIAL 2A 1 battle on Saturday, February 1. Clairton will meet a Centurions squad coming off a 65-43 league win over Bentworth (Bentleyville, PA). The Centurions record now stands at 16-2.
