Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Islands Sharks (Savannah, GA) and the host New Hampstead Phoenix (Savannah, GA), saw Islands's basketball squad hold off New Hampstead by a tally of 46-44.

With the victory, Islands improves its record to 13-11 on the campaign. The Sharks travel to Burke County (Waynesboro, GA) to play the Bears in a AAAA Region 3 challenge on Friday, February 3. The Bears come into the challenge with a record of 9-10. Burke County won 65-40 in their recent league challenge against Southeast Bulloch (Brooklet, GA)

Next up, the Phoenix play the Jenkins County War Eagles (Millen, GA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, February 7. New Hampstead will attempt to improve on its 9-11 season record.
