North Carolina High School Basketball - Union Academy thwarted by North Stanly

The Union Academy Cardinals basketball team (Monroe, NC), dropped 87-68 in Friday's league battle with the host North Stanly Comets (New London, NC)

The Comets now possess a 11-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Gray Stone Day for a 1A/2A Yadkin Valley battle on Tuesday, January 9. North Stanly will confront a Knights team coming off a 66-24 league loss to Mount Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, NC). The Knights record now stands at 0-8.

The Cardinals (2-11) will now prepare for their battle against Albemarle (Albemarle, NC). The Bulldogs come into the 1A/2A Yadkin Valley battle with a 0-11 record. In their last battle, Albemarle dropped by South Stanly (Norwood, NC), 58-44, in a league battle.
