Texas High School Basketball - Liberty overwhelmed by Walnut Grove

The Walnut Grove Wildcats basketball team scored 61 points and restricted the visiting Liberty Redhawks to 35 in the Wildcats league victory on Tuesday.

The Wildcats now sport a 16-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Heritage for a 5A Region II District 10 contest on Friday, January 12. Walnut Grove will battle a Coyotes team coming off a 62-37 league win over Lebanon Trail (Frisco, TX). The Coyotes record now stands at 13-9.

The Redhawks (6-15) will now prepare for their contest against Independence (Frisco, TX). The Knights come into the 5A Region II District 10 contest with a 7-14 record. In their last contest, Independence was routed by Emerson (McKinney, TX), 61-45, in a league contest.
