The Zuni Thunderbirds (Zuni, NM) volleyball prevailed the host Newcomb Skyhawks (Newcomb, NM), 3-1 in Tuesday's league match.
Next up, the Thunderbirds confront the Tohatchi Cougars (Tohatchi, NM) in a 3A District 1 match, on Thursday, October 16. Zuni will attempt to move on its 7-9 season record. The Cougars enter the match with a 12-3 record after their 3-0 league win over Wingate (Fort Wingate, NM).
The Skyhawks (2-14) will now prepare for their bout against Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM). The Eagles come into the 3A District 1 bout with a 3-12 record. In their last bout, Navajo Prep fell by Crownpoint (Crownpoint, NM), 3-2, in a league bout.
