North Carolina High School Volleyball - Watauga over Alexander Central

Fans at Thursday's league contest between the Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) and the visiting Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC), observed Watauga's volleyball team top Alexander Central by a count of 3-0.

The Pioneers (19-1) will now prepare for their contest against McDowell (Marion, NC). The Titans enter the Northwestern 6A/7A contest with a 10-10 record. In their last contest, McDowell was knocked off by St. Stephens (Hickory, NC), 3-1, in a league contest.

Next, the Cougars battle the Hickory Red Tornadoes (Hickory, NC) in a non-league contest, on Monday, October 6. Alexander Central will attempt to move on its 13-5 season record. The Red Tornadoes enter the contest with a 25-4 record after their 3-0 league win over East Lincoln (Denver, NC).
