North Carolina High School Volleyball - Watauga over Alexander Central

Fans at Tuesday's league contest between the Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) and the host Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC), observed Watauga's volleyball team top Alexander Central by a count of 3-0.

The Pioneers (13-1) will now prepare for their battle against McDowell (Marion, NC). The Titans go into the Northwestern 6A/7A battle with a 9-5 record. In their last battle, McDowell achieved victory over St. Stephens (Hickory, NC), 3-0, in a league battle.

The Cougars now own a 9-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Freedom for a Northwestern 6A/7A battle on Thursday, September 18. Alexander Central will encounter a Patriots squad coming off a 3-1 league loss to South Caldwell (Hudson, NC). The Patriots record now stands at 3-10.
