Next up, the Bears battle the Newcomb Skyhawks (Newcomb, NM) in a 3A District 1 contest, on Saturday, October 28. Wingate will attempt to better on its 3-16 season record. The Skyhawks go into the contest with a 7-11 record after their 3-2 league loss to Thoreau (Thoreau, NM).

With the defeat, Zuni drops to 5-13 on the campaign. The Thunderbirds host Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM) to encounter the Eagles in a 3A District 1 challenge on Saturday, October 28. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 11-9. Navajo Prep won 3-1 in their recent league challenge against Thoreau (Thoreau, NM)
