The Anderson Indians (Anderson, IN) basketball knocked off the host Pendleton Heights Arabians (Pendleton, IN), 76-68 in Tuesday's non-league test.
The Indians (1-0) will now prepare for their test against Lapel (Lapel, IN). The Bulldogs go into the non-league test with a 0-0 record.
The Arabians now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they travel to Wapahani for a non-league test on Saturday, November 26. Pendleton Heights will encounter a Raiders squad coming off a 48-46 non-league loss to Muncie Central (Muncie, IN). The Raiders record now stands at 0-1.
Fourth Quarter
The young Arabians played a very good game against an experienced Anderson Indian team but came up short on the score board. The Arabians started very strong and outscored the Indians 18-14 in the first quarter. Pendleton Heights was even leading at halftime by 4 points. The Indians had a hot third quarter and went into the final period ahead. The hustling Arabians managed to outscore the Indians in the last period by 5 points, but that was not enough. The leading scorer for the Arabians was Evan Mozingo with 18 big points. He was followed by Aaron Cookston and Josiah Gustin each with 11, Dontrez Braxton and Brayden Kanitz each scoring 8, Isaac Wilson with 7 and Reese Caplinger with 5. Josiah Gustin pulled down a game high 9 total rebounds. The Arabians hustled the entire game and the Indians were pushed hard. Next up for Pendleton Heights is a road trip to Selma next this Saturday with a game against Wapahani. GO BIG GREEN!!!!
