The Oakwood Comets basketball team scored 54 points and held the visiting Paxton-Buckley-Loda Panthers to 53 in the Comets non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Comets now sport a 8-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host St. Thomas More for a non-league contest on Tuesday, December 5. Oakwood will meet a Sabers team coming off a 67-50 non-league loss to Bishop McNamara (Kankakee, IL). The Sabers record now stands at 3-2.

The Panthers (1-3) will now prepare for their contest against Watseka (Watseka, IL). The Warriors enter the non-league contest with a 1-3 record. In their last contest, Watseka nudged Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond (Arthur, IL), 51-40, in a non-league contest.
