Metea Valley Mustangs (Aurora, IL) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting DeKalb Barbs (DeKalb, IL), 44-42 in a league bout.

With the victory, Metea Valley upgrades its record to 4-1 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to St. Patrick (Chicago, IL) to play the Shamrocks in a non-league bout on Sunday, December 3. The Shamrocks come into the bout with a record of 3-2. St. Patrick lost 57-32 in their recent league bout against Marist (Chicago, IL)

Next up, the Barbs play the Rantoul Eagles (Rantoul, IL) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 2. DeKalb will attempt to upgrade on its 2-3 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 1-4 record after their 82-27 non-league loss to Morton (Morton, IL).
