North Carolina High School Basketball - Gray's Creek can't hold off Purnell Swett

Purnell Swett Rams (Pembroke, NC) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the visiting Gray's Creek Bears (Hope Mills, NC), 62-56 in a league match.

With the victory, Purnell Swett upgrades its record to 2-4 on the year. The Rams travel to Cape Fear (Fayetteville, NC) to face the Colts in a 3A/4A United 8 match on Friday, January 3. The Colts enter the match with a record of 2-4. Cape Fear lost 64-39 in their recent league match against Lumberton (Lumberton, NC)

The Bears now sport a 3-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Seventy-First for a 3A/4A United 8 match on Friday, January 3. Gray's Creek will face a Falcons squad coming off a 68-57 league win over South View (Hope Mills, NC). The Falcons record now stands at 2-1.
