North Carolina High School Basketball - Gray's Creek nips Purnell Swett

February 1, 2025: Hope Mills, NC 28348

The crowd at Saturday's league challenge between the Gray's Creek Bears (Hope Mills, NC) and the visiting Purnell Swett Rams (Pembroke, NC), observed Gray's Creek's basketball team edge Purnell Swett by a score of 63-59.

The Bears (7-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Lumberton (Lumberton, NC). The Pirates come into the 3A/4A United 8 challenge with a 15-3 record. In their last challenge, Lumberton edged South View (Hope Mills, NC), 63-50, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Rams battle the Scotland Fighting Scots (Laurinburg, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, February 3. Purnell Swett will attempt to improve on its 3-14 season record. The Fighting Scots come into the challenge with a 4-12 record after their 65-59 league win over Union Pines (Cameron, NC).
