Progreso Red Ants (Progreso, TX) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Monte Alto Blue Devil (Monte Alto, TX), 62-30 in a league bout.

With the win, Progreso upgrades its record to 13-6 on the season. The Red Ants host Santa Rosa (Santa Rosa, TX) to play the Warriors in a 3A Region IV District 32 bout on Thursday, December 22. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 10-7. Santa Rosa won 89-55 in their recent league bout against Lyford (Lyford, TX)

Next up, the Blue Devil play the IDEA Sports Park Stingrays (Brownsville, TX) in a 3A Region IV District 32 bout, on Friday, January 6. Monte Alto will attempt to upgrade on its 1-6 season record.
