Virginia High School Basketball - Culpeper County can't hold off James Monroe

February 13, 2024: Fredericksburg, VA 22401

The James Monroe Yellow Jackets basketball team scored 80 points and held the visiting Culpeper County Blue Devils to 75 in the Yellow Jackets league triumph on Tuesday.

The Yellow Jackets now sport a 15-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Chancellor for a Battlefield contest on Wednesday, February 14. James Monroe will battle a Chargers team coming off a 83-36 league win over King George (King George, VA). The Chargers record now stands at 21-2.

The Blue Devils (11-10) will now prepare for their contest against Fauquier (Warrenton, VA). The Falcons enter the non-league contest with a 13-9 record. In their last contest, Fauquier nudged Kettle Run (Nokesville, VA), 42-32, in a league contest.

Culpeper County

Congratulations to #3 Kelley Hutcherson for being selected the Culpeper County Girls Basketball Player of the Game.
