In Wednesday's non-league test, the visiting Gainesville Hurricanes lacrosse squad scored a tight 9-4 victory over the Newberry Panthers.
The Hurricanes now have a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Stanton for a non-league test on Tuesday, March 1.
In their next game, the Panthers face the St. Joseph Academy Flashes (St. Augustine, FL) in a non-league test, on Friday, February 25. Newberry will attempt to move on its 0-2 season record. The Flashes come into the test with a 0-3 record after their 0-0 non-league Santa Fe (Alachua, FL).
