The Volunteers now possess a 16-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Simpson Academy for a non-league battle on Wednesday, February 8. Starkville Academy will battle a Cougars team coming off a 32-29 non-league loss to Leake Academy (Madden, MS). The Cougars record now stands at 19-7.

The Colts (15-14) will now prepare for their battle against Leake Academy (Madden, MS). The Rebels come into the non-league battle with a 20-11 record. In their last battle, Leake Academy edged Simpson Academy (Mendenhall, MS), 32-29, in a non-league battle.
